PAUL DOOLEY - President and Founder
Paul’s specialty is bringing creative solutions to difficult protection situations.
His client needs always come first and efficient, yet personalized service, lies behind every sale.
He combines extensive industry knowledge with strategic corporate alliances to provide every customer the confidence that comes with being properly insured.

Experience includes:
  • 16 years as an independent  insurance agency owner in Oak Park, IL.
  • Licensed life & health agent since 1986, property & casualty since 1991.
  • Serving over 200 employer group clients and over 500 individual clients.
  • Served as director of Chicago Area Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce for its first 4 years of existence.
  • Insure and support many community corporations, professionals and nonprofit organizations
  • Experienced conducting small business, personal insurance, benefits and estate planning seminars
  • Contributor of insurance-related articles to several community newsletters
  • Graduated Magna Cum Laud in 1986 from the University of Missouri-St. Louis

Paul supports a number of non-profits including Center on Halsted, Equality Illinois, the Human Rights Campaign,  Midwest Dachshund Rescue, Names Project IL, Recovery Inc., San Jose Obrero Mission and Thousand Waves Foundation.

Paul lives in the West Rogers Park neighborhood on Chicago’s northwest side with his mini-dachshund, Copper.  When not enjoying Chicago’s lakefront, culture and community, Paul can be found in Vieques, Puerto Rico.

DAVID KULAWIAK
DAVID KULAWIAK - Partner
David Kulawiak was born in Chicago and makes his home in Evanston, IL. He attended Regis University in Denver, CO. and is a graduate of the Boston Conservatory where he received a bachelor’s degree in Opera Preparation and Performance. He went on to graduate and postgraduate studies at Northwestern University in Music History and Literature. He is a graduate of Worsham College of Mortuary Science and has been a licensed funeral director in the State of Illinois for nearly twenty years.

His interests include Opera (he has been known to travel the world for certain performances), fine dining (he is a self-taught gourmet cook) and wine. He collects contemporary fine art photography and loves to take his dog for long walks.

He has been active in Chicago’s gay and lesbian community by volunteering with the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, Horizons Community Services, Lambda Legal Defense and Education Network and  GLSEN.  He served on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Professional Networking Association (the first networking group in Chicago for gay and lesbian professionals) for six years, two of those as president.

Unable to pass a dog on the street without stopping to say hello and pet, he makes his home in Evanston with his partner Richard and their dog Mr. Rooney.

This very catholic list of achievements allowed McGirr to develop a breakthrough financial planning approach--perfect for the Boomer generation--that melds emotional right brain concerns with rigorous left brain disciplines.

Firmly rooted in the financial sector, McGirr began his career as an accountant with then-Big 8 firm Arthur Young & Co. From there, McGirr joined First Chicago Bank [now JPMorgan Chase] and worked overseas auditing Pacific Rim operations. Prior to focusing on financial planning exclusively, McGirr was a full-time instructor of accounting at alma mater Loyola University, where his riveting style garnered Teacher of the Year accolades.
